Kiss Of Death??

What exactly does it mean when a man tells you that you are a "Sweetheart" ? Is that the relationship kiss of death? Does it mean that you have slipped into the "Just a friend" category with no hope of redemption?
I have had several men tell me these exact words "You are a sweetheart,Prissy." and I have not gotten to the point of a serious relationship with any of them. Don't men want a sweetheart....a kind, sincere, honest, fun woman?
Why does dating have to be such a game? Why do you have to put on airs and pretend to be uninterested and cold in order to get and keep the attention of the opposite sex?
If men truly don't want a sweetheart for a mate then I am destined to be alone forever, because I honestly don't know how to be anything else.
